You'd think they would be able to narrow it down a little better than this.  :roll:

"Forecasters don't yet know when Wednesday's solar storm will arrive here and which part of the planet will be facing the sun and bear the brunt of the effects. It could arrive as early as Thursday morning or may take a few days."

Sunspots/SolarFlares happen all of the time and the biggest fallout is satellite and other HF communication. That was supposed to be a big one but it wasn't. There was a big one in the 1880's that took out telegraph lines. If that happened today it would be like a EMP burst that covered half the world.

For people that have satellite TV the solar conjunction time is coming up. You will have a 3 to 5 minute loss of satellite signal about the same time every day for about 4 to 5 days.

There was one back in the early 90's that took out pagers and some other stuff for a couple days.
