Ever heard of H5N2?

"There's no reason for anybody in the state of Minnesota to be concerned about their own health," Governor Mark Dayton said at a press conference on Thursday after declaring the state of emergency.

I read about the one egg farm that has to kill 3 million laying hens.
Experience is the hardest kind of teacher, it gives the test 1st and the lesson after.

Courage is knowing it may hurt and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same.
This is why life is so hard.

I'm pretty sure this is the same "bird flu" that caused a world wide pandemic just a few years ago.  I'm don't believe it can jump for person to person YET.  But like any flu it's constantly changing.

When the sweet embrace of death comes, I just hope it comes quickly...

In the void we all have no regrets..

Birds only, not a new strain by any stretch. The main danger comes to those mass market farms like the one already mentioned. It's 3 million birds stuffed in a building that barely has room for them to stand. A virus like this in conditions like that will spread like wildfire. Expect food prices to climb.

I guess we'll all have to go vegan or die....

Ummm....  Again, this sounds like the beginning of every zombie movie ever.  This scenario worries me a lot more than any tinfoil hat scenario that rhymes with 'blade selm'.

Minnesota and Wisconsin declared states of emergency in April.

In addition, the action allows the state and local law enforcement to set up checkpoints and road blocks anywhere in the state, including areas outside of quarantined farms.
