Just got mine back
« on: September 25, 2015, 10:22:40 AM »
Thanks, guys. Nice crisp break. I was surprised at how much greater
the pull is now over before. Is that the cost of getting it to pop so cleanly?
Just wondering as it was much easier before but a whole lot more "sloppy".
Of course, it IS a CHICOM with a stamped metal trigger assembly.....

Thoughts?

Best Wishes,

Bruce

Negative engagement might have been HELPING you pull the trigger before.

Did he change any springs in his tuning process?  When Murray did mine he put in a lighter spring but I was getting light strikes and I put my original spring back in and all was well.  Maybe your old spring was worn/weak so Kivaari put in a new one? I'm not even thinking this through, just spit balling so not sure that even makes sense in your situation.

RV, you have OCD. Yes, I'm waiting to see if your total goes to $37.85.

Email Kavari and see what springs he put in.  I'm sure there would be a record if he put new springs in.

Changing a sear profile from negative engagement (helps the hammer slide over the sear) to Positive engagement (hammer cocks a little more with the trigger pull/sear movement)  will add felt trigger weight.

Yes, if you had a very negative engagement, it's likely the pull was very light.
Correcting the engagement will raise the pull weight , all things equal.
That said the pull weight should still be around 4-4 1/2 ....
If this is not the case, send it back, front of the line, and I'll look at it again. Sometimes the springs bind for no explicable reason, too.
