Salute to Tom
« on: October 17, 2017, 06:16:58 PM »
Had sent 2 or 3 PMs to Galahad over the last year and hadn't heard back, but today I decided to call and his wife answered and told me the sad news of him passing on April 16, 2016.

To my fellow Texan...fellow SKS enthusiast...former owner of SKSBoards.com...stock refinshing expert...good friend...and many more things to many more people here, I Salute You Sir! We'll miss you for sure.

And we at Murrays extend our condolences to his wife and children, may he rest in peace, and we pray the family can find comfort during difficult days, knowing many here thought quite highly of this Texas Gentleman.

Damn, I was thinking about him yesterday and the fact I hadn't called in a while. RIP my friend.

 Sad news indeed. :(

Tom and I were good friends once but we drifted apart and lost touch the way people sometimes do;  He was a very good guy, and he is, and will continue to be missed.

WOW- Condolences to his family. Galahad and I were friends, we liked each other, and sometimes we could not stand to be on the same planet together. I knew his best when we were both fellow Texans.  He was a good guy and will be missed!

I was afraid of that since he had some health issues and had been sporadic about checking in.  Sad news indeed.

We traded PMs for a while on stock refinishing. He knew his stuff.

RIP Galahad.

I remember speaking with him a few times over 1911's and wood types and finishes for custom stocks. Great guy and wealth of knowledge. Sorely missed, may you RIP.

My condolences and prayers to the family.

Just saw this, though I had expected it for a while and didn't really have the heart to ask.

A great guy, and it was a pleasure to get to talk to him those times I did. I am especially happy he was able to live out his retirement away from commiefornia.

See you on the other side Sir Galahad.

Always sad to lose what reputation says is a fine human being, and a wealth of knowledge.  R.I.P.
