Trudeau's proposed gun control law (Canada Election 2019)
« on: September 25, 2019, 05:15:34 PM »
Anyone know if Trudeau's proposed gun control law would ban the SKS?  He has said he plans to "ban all military-style assault rifles, including the AR-15" (ps, if you didn't know, the AR-15 is already on the Prohibited list).  I suppose no one knows until proposed legislation actually hits the house of commons.

As always, dumb politicians propose legislation that will not (and can not) have any impact on crime.

Well it was certainly a military rifle and quite a few assaults were made with them over the years in various conflicts. Doesn't mean anything though since politics is about selling out your people to the highest bidder in order to keep your power, logic need not apply.

I guess he is hoping gun control and the illusion of safety will be enough distraction to turn the conversation from his racist past coming back to haunt him.

And he can tell the RCMP to 'ban' them at any point - doesn't need them to be specifically named in any law. The C-71 is for the Toronto/Vancouver crowd since many don't have any contact with firearms - they believe what they see in movies and on the News.   SKSs have been used in several mass shootings so odds are against us even tho they are 70 years old  :banghead:
