ok since a few of you are interested I will throw a date out. How about Saturday March 14? Tentatively I think Fatima and I can be there by 10am for a few hours of shooting. We will probably stay over over at one of the hotels out there, probably the one on the edge of Labelle .....I am sure we will also head over to our farm on SR80 for a couple fresh chickens. I only need a couple hours of shooting to really make sure my new builds are fully broken in and can handle a couple mag dumps without cracking

BTW, I called the range and for shooting from 8am-3pm it is 12 bucks and that includes once target, other targets are 1.00 a piece. I see it as 2 or 3 hours of shooting fun for about 15 bucks a head

The 14th can be done. I feel the 28th would be better. I work on Saturdays so I have to ask for it off but that should not be to hard given the time frame.

FYI...Homestead training center>annual membership is $225.00 and $15.00 for 4 hrs range time...non members pay $25.00 for less time on range. (police,fire,ent,military,ex-military,retired from...get discounted annual membership). when I do the math that is like 900% more and they don't have overnite camping. What would the worst case numbers be for the range we used...just asking, because I would pay more (there is a limit) for camping, range time, friendship and would feed myself if I had to...in other words go back to the way it was when all this started !!  It was just as much a good time with a lot less...what say you?

https://www.azgfd.com/shooting/basf/    WOW, What a reality check. Love Arizona just a little more after hearing those stories. For $7.00, I can shoot all day! 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I can go get a bite to eat and return to shoot on the same day pass till close. Can do lots of other things there as well, all very affordable. On the way out the door right now. Should be in the mid seventies, and sunshine all day. Will need those sun glasses today!  8)

I have a few options close by.
Less than an hour to Honey Island Shooting Range (flooded now).
$75/yr family pass, or $6/day for guests

Pascagoula, where I go to shoot 600 (next saturday)and soon 1000 (this summer), $100 year for Husband, Wife/ and/or Guest.
F-Class Match fees $15

Palo Alto in Donaldsonville which I do NOT belong to as it's $325/yr Plus match fees.
Don't have to be a member to shoot matches but I have not been there yet.

Range fees were NOT an issue with a 1600 mile round trip.

Unless there is a better plan, I will be out at the Hendry county range that we used to use on March 14 as early as 8am but probably by 10am. I plan to shoot and trouble shoot several firearms for a few hours, then Fatima and I will visit our chicken farm and have dinner somewhere in Labelle or Clewiston. We would love to see anyone of the old gang and or new people that are interested and maybe we can get together that evening for dinner and drinks. But as of right now that is my minimum plan. IF there is anyone that really wants to do this but has a better weekend I am open.

I'd like to do it but the 28th would be a better weekend and id be more likely to get the day off.

I can do either weekend but I'm more inclined to the 28th like venom. I'll probably get out there early Saturday morning so if anyone else wants to meet I'll be there already.

And just because I have pushing for a mini shoot one Saturday at the Hendry County range does not mean I am not open to a more offical shoot if someone has another location. I do miss the Hendry range though and I think either way I will be driving out there one Saturday in March. Hopefully others will join me

I imagine it would be possible to have a weekend long event like before, we'd just have to take out some of the extravagance. Don't make it a week long event with a million moving parts. Don't have fifty plus t-shirts made, etc.

The problem is all the moving parts did not really effect the price. The only things that cut from the range rental was the shirts and food. The shirts can be cut but food cannot. At our normal turn out at $60 per person the fee would only cover the range and not food. Realistically we would be looking at roughly $100 per person. I don't mind paying that but i'm sure other people would.

March is too near to do anything about but we should at least start a discussion on having an October shoot and what the changes will have to be to make it viable.
