Shipping Ammo to NJ
« on: March 03, 2021, 06:29:16 PM »
I'm cleaning out unused calibers from my ammo stash and putting it on GunBroker.  Someone from NJ contacted me and asked if I would ship ammo to NJ.  I did some research and it looks like he will need a FID card, which the potential buyer says he has.

Is that all there is to it?  If you know, please reply.

Yes as of now all you need is a copy of his FOID card. I would also request a copy of his DL and only ship it to the address listed on both which has to match. I was a resident there for almost 36 years and still have friends in the gun community there.

I live in NJ and all I have ever needed to buy ammunition is a FID card. Hope this helps.

I agree. However as a private seller on a auction platform you have zero protection vs a retail operation which is why I required a valid DL to make sure it was going to the exact person and location that was listed on the FOID.

I’ve had people who were Montana residents after payment was made request I ship 5.56 tracer ammunition to their “summer homes” in California.
