Can't argue with that, Hodgie.  Sucks about the suppressors..

My braced pistols are staying just the way they are since this new "rule" is unconstitutional and as such should be ignored! I built them with home defense in mind, and they serve that purpose very well, indeed.
The ATF should be disbanded since it is the government's attempt to circumvent the founder's true intention for The 2nd Amendment.

Everything legal is on YouTube and the internet regardless if it’s firearm related or not. To blame it on anything other than the garbage ATF and the government who allows them this overreach is silly. The HEAR act was just enters by Sen. Menendez's of NJ that will ban all suppressors including those already in possession. Wanna blame that on the guys who showcase them being used as well?

The ATF themselves said braces were legal and could be shouldered and now they decided to change their minds with the blessing of the president making 10’a of millions of legal firearms owners felons. Regardless of YouTube we would be right here anyway.

Part of me would like to see YouTube come clutch on their threats to demonetize and ban any 2A videos...just to keep the knuckleheads, mall ninjas, couch commando, #lookatme! posts off social media. 15-20 years ago, we didn't have in-your-face videos glorifying guns, and questionable gun culture. The more you talk about the problem, the more emotional people get.

Those videos and mall ninjas do just as much or more to normalize gun culture then demonize it. The sheer number of new gun owners in all demographics especially minorities and woman in the last 7 years is staggering and it stared king before Covid.

It’s no different than a small local business who refuses to switch over to advertising on Facebook or refuses to use payment apps. You will become irrelevant fast with the current and next as would any future interest in firearm ownership.

Im positive GunTubers and the legal use of firearms isn’t causing mass gun related crime in this country. The days of sitting in your basement hoping it will pass by your house and leave you alone is king gone.

Getting back to the new ruling.

I believe the GOA or the FPC made one more push to get an injunction on this new rule until it can be fought out. Yesterday the judge gave the ATF 24hrs to file their nonsense in order for a ruling to be made. Most likely coming next week.

As folks can tell by the other threads active in the "Legal Forum", I've decided to convert my "pistols" into rifles with 16" barrels.  I've also decided to do the conversion in such a manner that I can go back should the slow wheels of justice eventually turn ATF's new rule back.

EVERYONE!!!! IF YOU OWN A BRACED PISTOLO, YOU NEED TO DONATE AT LEAST $20 TO THE FPC (FIREARMS POLICY COALITION) BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, 5/31/23!!!!

https://www.firearmspolicy.org/fpc-statement-regarding-membership

The injunction only applies to members of the FPC with a membership date BEFORE the injunction motion was filed... FBC has voted to make every donor a registered member retroactively back to june 1 2022... but you must donate before midnight TONIGHT!

Just received this. What say you oh learned ones?

Mr. Taliaferro,

Based on our conversations with our attorney, it is his view that the injunction applies to SAF members that may have joined SAF after the injunction and clarification were issued. However, because this issue is not resolved definitively by existing case law, or the Court’s orders, it is possible another interpretation could be correct. As to the geographic bounds of the injunction, it applies nationwide, so long as the person is a named plaintiff or SAF member. As our counsel only represents the named plaintiffs in the case, we encourage you to seek individualized legal advice on this matter. This correspondence is not legal advice and should not be relied upon as such.

You can sign up for a membership here JOIN SAF OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP - Second Amendment Foundation or send a check to SAF, 12500 NE 10th PL, Bellevue, WA  98005.

Who's covered and when they had to be a member is certainly a matter for debate -- and might ultimately be a matter for the courts to decide should ATF decide to "force" the issue.

I didn't register anything as an SBR.  However, all my braced pistols now sport 16" barrels -- and those pistols which were imported were assembled in compliance with 922(r).  If you're relying on recent obtained membership in a covered organization to keep ATF at bay, then as noted above you're at some risk.  And whatever you do, don't increase that risk by "poking the bear".

It’s being reported that only 250,000 or so people registered out of 10 to 40 million.

I’m sure the rest just turned in or destroyed the guns.

Or added longer barrel . . . relatively easy to do for an AR pistol.
