SKS with West Coast Rail
« on: May 13, 2024, 02:29:24 AM »
Went to a little shop in Oregon yesterday and found this jewel on the rack. All numbers matching with the lovely rail to nowhere. Looks to be Arsenal 156 not 26 nor 456. Haven’t seen this one before. Most I’ve paid for an SKS ever but prices aren’t getting any cheaper. I knew she was coming home with me regardless.

Nice, does it say KSI Hunter on the receiver's right side? Is the stock numbered too? I picked one up out of Colorado in November and I already had another, both had matching stocks. One I cloned a Parka Para, the latest unit I cloned a Stealth Para. I was fortunate that both bases were screwed on. I removed them and plugged the holes with Allens. I have a 3rd KSI Hunter that doesn't have the rail or stock cut for one. I modded one rail to fit a T89 mount and had that on until I ran across a Cowboys Companion that needed a mount and scope, it had the T89 base still attached. Luvs me some Paratroopers  8) PAX

Pax, for some reason I cannot upload pics anymore. It says they either are too big or not jpg, but they are jpg. I can text them too you if you like. Stock is numbered to gun and it is a KSI import but does not say Hunter. Also not a PARA, has 20" barrel with neutered front sight block. It did come with cleaning rod, kit in butt stock and a little bit of our friend cosmoline!

Your picts all came through. The full-length rifles are a little different than the wood stocked Paras, in that the Paras only have the front site globe. No bayo lug or rod guides, very clean. If you think you might want to put a scope mount base where the nowhere rail is let me know. When I was mulling over what to do about mine, I had a T89 mount so I modded the base rail to fit. After the T89 went on the CC I dug out some aluminum flat sided shotgun bases that I had. They'd work good and you'd be able to fit to the existing holes. PM me your phone # and I'll get some picts out to you if interested. PAX
