Ruger 5.7 pro
« on: September 07, 2024, 05:12:12 PM »
I am thinking about buying a Ruger 5.7 pro. I searched for any post on this pistol here and could not find any. I know the ammo is expensive and not plentiful. I saw one utube review with a few stovepipes but the commits kinda blamed it on the shooter. My reasons is the higher capacity for carry. I like the ergonomics. Rugers are a bit better priced than the FN. Hitchcock seemed to like them. Just wondering if anyone here has one or any first hand experience with this pistol.

I don?t have any personal experience with the Ruger or any 5.7 pistol for that matter. PSA also makes a 5.7 pistol now that gets very good reviews and they also make the ammunition under their brand AAC. I believe their pistols are the least expensive out of them all, and share similar reliability with the Ruger.

I have no experience with the Rock (PSA) or the Ruger 57 either, or the round at all for that matter.  But the sales on the PSA has tempted me more than once.

The Ruger comes with a 20rd mag, the PSA comes with a 23 if capacity is a criteria.

I just have a hard time adding calibers at this point.

My intent is to pick up a PSA MP7 clone in 5.7 once they start shipping:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTt8kIG9bqc.

It will probably be a replacement for my Kel-Tec CMR-30.  Even though my CMR is solid reliable, it still suffers from using a rimfire cartridge.
