Hey, that looks pretty cool.  I've got it on my desktop but it's copyrighted so I'm not going to put it on my web pages.  Makes me nervous to "redistribute" copyrighted material.

I am the one who owns the copyright... where is your site?

Really cool spreadsheet.  Thanks for sharing.

I just have space on pacbell servers.  I think they have forgotten that it even exists as things got really confused when PacBell got bought out.

If you want to move the spreadsheet into the public domain you really should take the copyright notice off.  If you plan to market or license it then I don't want to put it on my pages.  Just a personal thing with me having negotiated license agreements and contracts for so many years that I just can't pass around copyrighted stuff like it was public domain.

Well, it can remain copyrighted, but free for distribution. I will add that text to the worksheet. If you still have a hang up, that's fine.

EDIT: I do not intend to market or license it, just keep other people from claiming that they created it.

EDIT 2: The copyright notice has been altered, and the file updated.

GREAT!!!!

There is a way to at least put people on notice that you are the author.  If you do a File.Properties and go to the Summary tab you can enter your name, other information, and in the comments you can put something that explains that the spread sheet is free for personal use only.

Just a suggestion.

I've uploaded it to my web page as well.  (Even though I'll never need it cause I'm a "purist"  :D  :D  :D  )

Purist?
Naw, I lied.  I refinish all the time.  I'm just jealous because I can't do the "fun stuff" here in CA.   With the SKS though I honestly haven't been able to change it in a way that I think really makes any truly significant improvement.  I even have one of the folding pistol grip stocks and a K-Sports with the glass stock and neither one does anything for me.

Excellent spreadsheet!

This worksheet really makes it easy to visualize what you need to replace to remain compliant with 922(r).  Thanks - great job!  Anybody who's thinking of upgrading their SKS should use it.   It helped me.

I had wished there was a way to retain the original 10-round fixed magazine while putting a new stock on a SKS (I like the look of the Choate Draganov stock).  But the spreadsheet showed me there is no practical way to avoid obtaining a USA made magazine if I take my rifle out of original configuration.  I'd have to get the following US made parts -  muzzle brake, op rod, gas piston, stock, handguard, magazine body, mag follower, and mag floorplate - to obtain the required minimum 10 imported parts count.  Unfortunately, many posts describe the domestic replacement magazines as inferior to the original mag, but I'd have to replace it to stay legal.   I could also easily spend more on the parts than I did on the rifle!   Keeping all this in mind, I think I'll keep my Yugo in its original configuration - for now anyway!  :-)

You are right - until more parts, especially internals are being produced in the US, adding a pistol grip stock will pretty much require replacement of the 10 rnd fixed magazine.
