This worksheet really makes it easy to visualize what you need to replace to remain compliant with 922(r). Thanks - great job! Anybody who's thinking of upgrading their SKS should use it. It helped me.
I had wished there was a way to retain the original 10-round fixed magazine while putting a new stock on a SKS (I like the look of the Choate Draganov stock). But the spreadsheet showed me there is no practical way to avoid obtaining a USA made magazine if I take my rifle out of original configuration. I'd have to get the following US made parts - muzzle brake, op rod, gas piston, stock, handguard, magazine body, mag follower, and mag floorplate - to obtain the required minimum 10 imported parts count. Unfortunately, many posts describe the domestic replacement magazines as inferior to the original mag, but I'd have to replace it to stay legal. I could also easily spend more on the parts than I did on the rifle! Keeping all this in mind, I think I'll keep my Yugo in its original configuration - for now anyway! :-)
