That bubba-folder reminds me of the basic design of the Ruger Mini-14 folder.  The butt-stock is different but the folding mechanism and pistol grip location are similar.  The Stock has been relieved in the areas that were too small for the AK magazine instead of simply opening the mag well up from the inside as on the SKS-D/M

No clue of where the picture was shot. I found it on the 4chan forums under weapons.

Oohhh...  =P~

Some nice custom dress-up parts.  The mags look a little funny...might just be they have some work done to them too.

Wow those bayonet lugs are different too.  Those rifles look like they had a lot of work done.

I've seen that north Korean pic but never noticed that the mags seem to be longer and flatter then a normal sks mag.

The mags really are not any longer, they are just a different design.  Looks like they were meant to be removeable.  As I noticed earlier the bayonet assembly is completely different than other SKS variations.

those seem more interesting then the albanians. a detachable 10 round mag and improved bayonet. we should have invaded north korea before they had nukes.
I'm thinkin' you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling, so why don't we just ignore each other 'til we go away?

  Agreed!

There are a few North Korean SKSs in the US, but all of the ones I have seen have a grenade launcher cutoff and laminated stocks, everything else looked the same as any other country's SKS.  Looking at these it makes me wonder if sometime, post Vietnam war era, North Korea redesigned the SKS and made a new model.  Another possibilty is that these are the original pattern of North Korean SKS and the grenade launching rifles were later production.  Supposedly, North Korea did not receive help from the Soviets when setting up their SKS production.  The Chinese are supposed to have helped Vietnam and North Korea get started.  Considering that the Albanians were also helped by China and came up with a much different pattern I suppose anything could be possible.
