Maybe I have this all messed up.  But if you are trying to feed yourself and you only have 200 some odd rounds for 5 years, Fishing makes more sense than hunting for survival.

So I want fishing gear somewhere in my survival gear.  Three eyed fish are best!

I figure enough fish will come your way via the natives, once they start hailing you as a deity – because of the Trojan suit...

I will use someone else format with my answers. I know it all sounds crazy but even PID will soil his armor when I come out of the trees after him screaming a Wookie battle cry.

Shoes/Boots: Wookie overshoes (see below)
BDUs: A wookie costume to scare the natives away
Hat:Chewbacca mask
Poncho/Raincoat:Real Wookies are water repellant
Parka/Coat: The hair on my costume will keep me warm
Long arm: Wookie Bowcaster since I am not allowed a blaster
Sidearm: Lightsaber with several power cells/spare focusing crystals
Longarm ammo: I will make my own bolts from tree branches
Knife: Vibroblade
Fire (two methods): magnesium blocks/flint
Flashlight: see lightsaber above
Tool: My friend Richard, he's kind of a tool
Non-Tool Equipment: Ewok snares
Books:Bible so I can spread the Word and the Imperial Manual for Survival on Alien Worlds

Ewok snares?

Everyone knows that if you want to win, you need to have the Ewoks on your side.  Heck with enough Ewoks, you might be able to take over an alien ship the next time they drop another human.

I think that living in an Ewok commune is a seriously good Alien survival strategy.

First thing I'd do is throw the BS "gear" away.

Keep the clothes, sleeping bag and the pack.

SKS/Bayo (any variety)  or M1 Garand  +ammo.
I'd negotiate W/said "aliens" for 500rnds/ammo for dumping the rest of the gear.

9mm handgun or .45 (Any variety, if it goes BANG! it's good to go) +ammo/6 magazines.

Gun cleaning kit.

Buck Nighthawk

Spyderco knife sharpener.

300yds 40lb test fishing line/variety of hooks.

100ft/paracord.

I can make anything else I need from my surroundings including fire 'cuz I'm a badass! :sniper

I'd then kill the leader of the biggest tribe of sentients with my "bang stick" or my bare hands and become their supreme leader. Oh MAN I rule!!  :headbang:

From www.geekologie.com

"The inventer of a bear-protection suit has created a much slimmer version which has been designed to stave off bullets, explosives, knives, and clubs. The suit is called Trojan and the inventer describes it as the "first ballistic, full exoskeleton body suit of armour" and he hopes to get it deployed for Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan and US soldiers in Iraq. The suit has stood up to an elephant gun, and is made from high-impact plastic lined with ceramic bullet protection over ballistic foam. Included in the suit are compartments for emergency morphine and salt, a knife and emergency light. Built into the forearms are a small recording device, a pepper-spray gun and a detachable transponder that can be swallowed in case of trouble. The whole suit comes in at 18 kilograms and overs everything but the fingertips and the major joints, and could allegedly be mass-produced for about $2,000. Plus, if you saw an army of these things coming at you you wouldn't even fight. You'd just give up and pray the space robots haven't come to anally probe you."

I will start with that as my BDUs, Parka etc etc.  I will be back with the rest of my selections as I give as much thought to them as this.

Hahahaha!  I almost forgot about that one. Where's the video of him getting hit by a truck while wearing that suit.

Shoes/Boots: Danner Acadia 400g Thinsulate (Most comfy boot I've had)

BDUs: MARPAT

Hat: Boonie

Poncho: US Military with liner

Parka/Coat: Something in wool with a removable liner.  High tech fabrics are great for adventuring, but not ideal for survival situations (fall asleep next to a fire in Gore-Tex and with one spark the Gore-Tex melts.) In this situation you would need something that would hold up to pushing through dense brush when gathering food or wood.   Wool will get wet but at least will hold most of it's insulating properties.

Long arm: Remington XCR Tactical Long Range in 300 Win Mag with Leopold VX3-L 4.5-14 scope

Sidearm: S&W 5946 9mm

Ammo choice-
Longarm: 300 Win Mag Remington Accutip
Sidearm: 147gr luger

Knife:  Ka-Bar D2 ultimate fighting knife

Fire (two methods): Cabelas Supertanker lighter and magnifyng glass

Flashlight: Streamlight LED HP

Tool: Victorinox multi-tool

Non-Tool Equipment: Lots of duct tape

Books: Pocket SAS survival Guide; Survive! by Les Stroud

Now why would you single me out?  8) I do like the premise of this thread and I know everyone else is jealous of my Wookie fur and Ewok snare ideas.
