Very happy customer!
« on: April 06, 2009, 02:21:21 PM »
Sent my trigger to Kivaari's with a broken safety spring. Kivaari fixed my safety and installed his kit on my trigger. What amazing results! My safety works and the trigger pull is now amazing. The fun part is that I have two other Yugos to compare to the Kivaari trigger. I must admit I didn't really think I needed the trigger work done I just wanted my safety fixed. I am glad I had all of it done and I would recomend this work done for anyone that wants a better trigger pull. Much better trigger now. Thank you Tom!

2lurk, glad it is working for you.....

Just to clarify for all readers, there is no "kit" that can be bought to do this. It involves careful fitting of the hammer and the sear by a little filing and a lot of stoning, assembly/disassembly, filing/stoning, and so on. Many times some time is spent trying to save marginal parts only to discover that it cannot be done and i have to replace a hammer or sear or disconnector; I notify the customer of such issues.

Also, Yugos are the toughest to do as they seldom leave much material to work with...it seems the metal is removed by the factory judiciously in a careless fashion. Also, their hammer is different with a full "skirt" making it tougher to work with.... Most Yugos have a large gap between the cocked hammer and the secondary disconnect; thus the hammer is too high because it was set incorrectly. As a result , a lot of them need a sear.

And so it goes...
