The best TG?
« on: December 29, 2009, 11:30:42 AM »
Tom,

I've been thinking about sending my trigger to you sometime soon. The trigger job is for a matching Norinco, which has a stamped trigger group. I also have a Yugo milled trigger group at my disposal. In your opinion, is there any reason that I may want to use the Yugo milled trigger group in the Norinco instead of using the Norinco's own stamped trigger group? In your experience, are the quality of the two parts substantially different enough to warrant a mix-n-match setup?

Thanks!

I don't think there is any difference personally. I think it's the mental " milled" vs. "stamped". I wouldn't hesitate to use a stamped trigger group.

Odds are the stamped Chinese won't require a new sear if it's original due to the factory fitting of the engagement angles. They're typically not as screwed up as some other nationalities. Many Yugos are fitted at the factory by cutting the hammer excessively, unfortunately; a lot of them have very poor mechanical advantage possiblities as a result of the poor hammer fitting and some require a new sear.

Good luck,

Thanks! Just bought a Sig 522 as a post-Christmas present to myself, so firearms spending is limited for a little bit. Can't wait to get my trigger fixed up though!
