Initial reports were dire coming out of Wuhan. However we knew even just weeks later that reports were suppressed and yet some were exaggerated and manipulated by China as their actions worsened effect of it. Then all that disinformation was passed on through the WHO and the NIH to make policy for it here.  That quickly morphed into outright lies and coverups.  We were systemically over attributing deaths to pump up the rate to justify the govts draconian policies, and the fear generated was successful on nearly everyone for short while to even question it, until actual effect was witnessed by people over time.  Initially everyone feared catching it, then the real stats started to leak, and people who were not child like trusting of govt became confused then angry then rebellious.   But then you had people claiming it was a hoax etc.  Its real, just not what a lot of people were claiming.

As far as eradicating viruses, I don't think it's possible. The difference is for things like polio, the vaccine actually works and was developed to eradicate the virus, where the Covid vaccine they can't even tell what it does exactly either through ineffectiveness, if not designed for other purpose.

One thing that most all folks dont seem to recognize is the vaccines of many years ago are not the same vaccines of today despite the same label. Alum adjuvants (poison that triggers your natural immune response) have been "upgraded?" a few times and questionable for the long term neurological health. These Alum issues are prompting a move to new nano particle adjuvant that they hope might circumvent the Alum's draw backs.  To get nano's past the BBB, they found that using ultrasound on your neck, will get more nano's into your brain. Using the cover of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's like diseases, the funding is forthcoming.
Dont you love how we all ways go to prevention as the core motivator! Why do that, you gotta scare the crap out of folks to get into their accounts. Preventive.... naw no $$$$ in that. But hey look at these sick and dying folks..... Hmmm Playing God can get you millions, just ask Fauci.
How many here know why when you get an Ultrasound, the Tech is all ways moving the emitter? Not many?  The emitter puts a sound wave that is in the 1-2 million Hz frequency bouncing off your cell tissues. If they dont keep moving the emitter, it will heat and possible boil the fluid in your cells if left stationary. A developing baby's cells naturally grow within a 2-300 Hz cellular activity. Ultrasounds are great tools but can very dangerous as well if Strick guidelines are not followed. But I digress! There is alot of Science on the web. And we all may have bias's one way or the other. I'm convinced that the powers behind the vail, dont want you or I breathing their air any longer. So yeah, I admit it, I'm a bit bias in that regard. Still its not without facts arguable as they may be in todays definition of that.

We damned near had polio eradicated. The lowest we every got in the world was 50 cases in a year. Now it's coming back.

We knew the Chinese were lying. The Koreans were fairly spot on and were effected early on. They found out it was air transmission, and pegged quite a few other things that were hazy or lied about from China.

As far as why they did this ****. We all knew it was happening before, during, and after COVID. Politicians can invest in a company then mandate the use of it's products and services. Guess who makes money off of that.

It will always be "damn near" though, diseases seem to survive so long as there are hosts despite the best efforts to get rid of them, polio is just one, we had TB pretty much gone too, until it surged in South America and made it way back up here.

As far as vaccines not being the same, nope, we went from modifying the virus to allow our body to kill it, to modifying our body to kill it with RMA manipulation, which appears to ineffective, with stated intent anyway.
