WASR with MagPul furniture
« on: May 02, 2016, 02:39:40 PM »
Just finished outfitting my relatively new WASR with Magpul stock and forearm.  It's non-traditional for sure but comfort factor is much improved, especially with the stock.  The longer butt pad allows the gun to sit higher on the shoulder giving a better cheek weld.  For those of us with long necks, it makes a big difference.

I gave into temptation and put a Zhukov stock on one pf my Saigas, I really like it. The MOEs look great too, actually I like the look of them better, but wanted the folding stock.

Magpul also has optional cheek risers for the MOE stocks.

I'm waiting for my Zhukov Stock to come in.  You definitely have a good looking rig there my friend.

I put the Zukov furniture on mine. The stock is nice but for some reason I can't get it to sit perfectly straight on my WASR, it's angled off to one side a little bit but I can still mount the gun and get on the sights without any problem. The Zukov handguard gives me the length I was looking for but it gets hot. The thick metal chassis soaks up heat and then gives it off right where your hand is.

Sounds you need a heat shield inside the handguard, you can use a the aluminum of soda/beer cans to create a shield....

I thought the Zhukov was not designed to fit over the fixed sling attachment one the WASRs.  My handguard has a cut-off specifically for that reason.

Did you also notice that your stock has a different
angle mounted to your ak, providing you with
a straight recoil into your shoulder and better
cheek weld...
