I'm really interested in one of your sights. I purchased a kit from c&r springs that had a tube that went over the front post. I haven't even tried it out and I all ready don't like it. I got the kit for the bolt spring and trigger slack spring. Anyway if you had to choose for yourself what sight would you get? I'm really liking the Classic Target.

I forgot to mention that I purchased an accuracy kit from you a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to get it.

Thank you for your products.

Hello,

I really like the Classic Target myself.  It's the first one I made and the prototype is still on my favorite Mosin.  It does well out to 200 yards on coyotes.  In better hands than mine, it works even better.  There's a feller on YouTube who uses it to shoot very respectable groups to 600 yards (if I recall the distance correctly.)  I wear glasses, though, and the rear sight blurs too much to let me be comfortable with iron sights beyond a certain range.

For me, 200 yards is it.  For my betters, 600 yards seems to be very do-able!

Would you like me to ship your accuracy kit with your sight, or go ahead and ship it now?

Regards,

Josh

Ill gladly give a huge  +1 to the smith sights!

They install easy, look great and function perfectly.

The target sight really does allow you to see more of the target. This allows you to consistently aim at the same spot which yields better groups. I currently have this one installed on my best shooter.

The fiber optic posts are very nice. They are bright, but not disorienting. I personally like the red better than the green. To my eye, the green looks slightly brighter.

You gonna try to win something in October with a  Smith Sights -equipped rifle?

Very cool; I would really like to see the same level of competition we have in the SKS  comp happen in the Vintage class comp. 8)

That's nice, I added a low light set of fibers to my AK and Ruger GP100 and love them... forgot the manufacturer of AK sights, Ruger was a Ruger product.

Do you have a rear sight with that system or plan on doing that?

Hello,

There was a rear peep sight, but I took it down.  It's very complicated to get right as it stabilizes on three axis instead of two, and I had folks writing me nasty letters because I didn't send it out yesterday or sooner.

I've been playing around with drilling the rear sights for fiber-optics, but it's very complicated.  I might offer one some day, but it's still in the prototype stage.

Regards,

Josh
