Firing pin retaining pin doesn't want to go back in....
« on: September 24, 2015, 05:28:11 PM »
Hey everyone! I just had a question. I pulled my WASR bolt apart a while back and I couldn't get the firing pin retaining pin to go all the way back in. I put the extractor, extractor spring, and extractor retaining pin back in and they fit in just fine. The Firing pin fit in just fine, but the firing pin retaining pin DID NOT want to go back in all the way. I made sure several times that it was lined up with the notch in the Extractor retaining pin. It only sticks out a few millimeters, but it still bugs me that I couldn't get it to go back flush. The rifle functions just fine the way it is, but again, OCD is getting the best of me. I tried everything, even beating it. Nothing worked to get that sucker back in. Any suggestions? Or should I just live with it the way it is? THANKS!!!

There is a notch in the extractor retention pin which must face the slot that the firing pin retention pin goes through (goes through the notch in the extractor retention pin) otherwise the firing pin retention pin will not fit at all.
