M70 B1 slant break
« on: July 18, 2016, 03:40:31 PM »
I picked up a Yugo M70 B1. The ones with the black furniture. It was used very little when I got it. Anyway the slant break had several scratches on it. Other than that the rifle was perfect. So I decided to swap it out with a new slant break. All information I have checked states that the break is 14x1 L. I picked up one at a gun show. It was supposed to be the correct one and it didn't fit. So I figured maybe it was wrong being I had picked it out of a box of hundred. So it wasn't a big deal. So I ordered one from Tapco. It doesn't fit either. So could the rifle be a different thread than 14x1L ? thanks for any help.

Could be since Century Arms is the one who assembled it from parts kits they probably had a barrel with the wrong thread on it. and did you try threading the break on in a different direction to see if they went to the right instead of to the left it's possible it was a 14x1 R instead of a 14x1L thread?

Thanks, yes that did cross my mind. The old one goes right on lefty tighty. It looks like I will have to live with the original.

I believe the slant brake was a US part anyways to get the rifle to be 922r compliant.
