Muzzle break came loose on buddy's TGI AMD-65 (Hungarian).

The standard TGI break must have stressed the tack weld? Reading AKfiles, it's not all that rare. It's glaringly obvious that the barrel is now under the 'correct' length.
There might not be any gun smith around Memphis with both the welding gear and experience with these.

A coworker with an A&P has built two airplanes, and he will know somebody with the gear.

A guy on Google suggested four equidistant spot welds, or a weld going over 50% of the muzzle's circumference.
Enjoy some of the stored items now. Going to a recent funeral (age 49) reminded me of this. It could be you/I next time.

Pin it then spot weld the pin.

+1., blind pin and tack weld over the pin.  Easiest method and leas heat.
Just be careful on the depth of the drilling for the pin and only penetrate the barrel by 5 thousandths or so.

Best to adjust the timing of the muzzle device by adjusting the rear face of he device so it is tight when indexed to the FSB.  Then drill & pin.
