IIRC, the hole is "trumpet shaped" on both ends, kinda like an elongated hour glass. The pin is mashed to fill the excess space. Center punch in the exact middle and start with small drill bits. I want to say it's a 3mm pin. It's been a while, don't quote me on the size.
