« on: December 03, 2005, 10:53:17 PM »
I got the Siaga  7.62x39 yesterday. :D  I can't seem to get the cover off. :x   I push in the button and it should just come off, but it doesn't!  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Push it harder. They may hang up a little.

Push it in with the cleaning rod or a fork handle or something and give it a good  "umph" when you do it.

Sort of push in and upward

The one that you bought dosen't have a bolt hold open does it? Dunno if anything was done to yours. If it does, make sure the bolts forward...this'll take tension off the spring.

Your right it doesn't.  I thought that was odd. :?

I remember when I first got my SKS.  I was trying to put the trigger group in and I had the safety off.   Well I am sure you can imagine how comical it was to see me trying to put that dam thing back in.  I was hoping to not make another simple, yet fustrating mistake.

So does that button double as the latch it's self, like that latch that holds in the trigger group on the SKS?

The hole wasn't big enough.  So I took a hammer, a screw drive, and I beat it through. The hole is a little ripped on two corners, but it seems to be fine now with that new "custom" job I did. LOL
