Is there a trick to removing the original gas piston from the bolt carrier?

It appears the new one has only threads but I've put enough force on it that I thought I'd better ask.

I cannot see any kind of pins.

Is there something that I have to do with the new one to be sure that it gets that tight?

When you are dead, you don't know you are dead. It is difficult only for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.
