Every 527 I have handled has been so smooth and refined as compared to the Ruger.

Give the Ruger some time and it smooths out. I ended up taking my bolt apart and polishing it to get rid of the machining marks. the sound of them cycling was driving me insane.

The bolt on my ranch is smoother then then bolt on the predator. It did not bother me enough to avoid the Ranch and I understand how Ruger keeps the price down on these and it's small things like the machine marks, and the stock. No complaints from me on this one that is for sure.

I wonder if the RPR bolts come with the same finish from the factory. They come off the same machine, so if anyone has a $1500 RPR and wants to chime in feel free.

Good question, don’t know anyone who has one either.

Some buddies and I have a hunt camp in Southern Virginia that has some heavy timber and some wide open, long shots. I use an old Remington Model 8 in .35 Rem in the woods and if I’m overlooking the fields an early German Weatherby Mk V with a Douglas bbl in .270 Wby Mag with an old Leupold.
