Buy one complete if it's your 1st, They are cheap enough you could hardly build one for what just ordering one would run.  Unless you mean the BCG separate, that just depends on what the particular deal is.

Picked up an Anderson complete lower today. It didn't come with stock just the buffer tube.
Been looking at complete uppers this evening man is there a ton of options. Never dove this far into the ar world.

Any advice on uppers? Buy one complete or part by part? I do have at guru at work to help if I piece it together.

I’d buy it complete. If you want a more affordable quality option check out the PSA premium line. They use FN cold hammer forged barrels. They will last a lifetime, and tend are very accurate.

You will ave to add a BCG and charging handle as well. Their premium carrier made by Toolcraft runs about $100.00 on average.

I still my lower sitting in the safe and I'm sure I'll eventually find an upper for it. I did get a mil spec 6 position tube and a Magpul stock on it.

I ended up buying a ZRODelta rifle and putting a vortex cantilever mount with a Vortex crossfire ii 1-4x24 scope on it.

This a 7.62x39 upper. Get an Anderson lower, parts kit and whatever stock lights your fire, and you are done
