Has anyone been hearing chatter about the government restricting ammo?

Yesterday I heard that Winchester’s lake city plant is being pressured to not sell .223-5.56 To the public or they will loose their gov contract. The White House denies it of course.

Today I saw a blurb about the gov possibly shutting down the Lake Cities plant.

A person with knowledge of the situation tells us that, more than just “considering” the move, Winchester, which operates the US Army’s Lake City ammunition plant, has been informed that it may no longer sell M855 and SS109 ammunition produced in excess of the military’s needs on the civilian market.

So, specialty ammo. Only the Gov is allowed to have ammo that will blow a lung out of the body?

I also read that someone contacted lake city directly and they said they had heard nothing official yet.

But keep in mind, they will be switching over to the new 6.8 round at lake city at least in part without expanding, so they will lower production of 5.56 in any event.  Regardless, lets go Brandon.

No that's just 9mm. We are safe.
