Need some feedback please guys. Possible new mag release for the SKS

Guys, I was contacted by the man who developed this device. I like it. It is simple, easy to install, and hopefully can be produced at a good price point. That bridge hasn't been crossed yet.

It is a natural add-on if you have one of our G3's. It will allow for one hand mag drops. The g5 already has a release built-in to the adapter. It isn't needed for the G9.

Additionally, it will work nicely w/o one of our adapters if you are using duckbill mags.

What say you, any interest and what's it worth to you??

What I'd really like to see though is someone begin to produce the mag release that Federal Arms used to sell when they were in business.  It seemed to be a housing that would attach to the front of the trigger guard and extend forward housing an AK style release.  There didn't seem to be much to it really, the AK style release seemed to simply pull on the standard SKS release.  An AK style release might not be single handed, but for some reason it seems to me to be more appropriate on an SKS.

Still, I know how enamored many are of pushing a little button.

I really like that release.  Much better than the "AK" style and it looks like no mods are required other than bolting to the trigger guard.

We (Daniel and I) had a long phone conversation last night. We are going to try and bring this to market. Way to early to give any dates or price point. Stay tuned for updates guys.

What would you guys pay for this device? That will determine if it can be done. I'm guessing you want it aluminum and black anodized like our adapters?

Whether you have one of our adapters or not, are running duckbill mags, would you use this device? Or only if you use our adapter? I'm trying to get a feel for 'market share'.

It will cost "X" for us to tool up to make these. If we can't at least recover "X", it won't be viable to move forward.

I do like this 'release'. It appears to be simple and straight forward, w/o any permanent mods needed.

Ya gotta be profitable to keep these great products coming. Being an AR junkie, anything around the century mark is acceptable.
Many think cheap is the dream. My experience has been, ya get what ya pay for.

edit: Most of the items sold by Marcus are at or above $100. The G9 is twice that. Few have complained. For drop free, this is cost effective; with the addition of a G3, it is a viable alternative to the G9. No complaints here if the MSRP is less.

Yeah, but I'm not going to spend $100 on an improved mag release, it just isn't that important.   It's a neat thing but it ain't $100 neat.

I would say we are all dancing to the same tune here. My guess is it will come in about 50.00. Don't hold me to that though. We don't know production costs yet. Still too soon to tell.
