Heck, if it shoots fine, that's a pretty good check.
I don't have any M or D bolts to try.

Unfortunately, "shooting fine" is not always the end of the story.  Back when I was building AKs, I had a PSL that shot just fine.  Unfortunately, I discovered it was occasionally splitting cases.  Despite this only happening occasionally, gauges showed the headspace to be way off.

While I search for the 922r compliance parts, the pistol grip is ready to be mounted.

Was the stock matching numbers? If so and you cut it to fit the pistol grip. you're officially Bubba. PAX

I won't attach the pistol grip to my Chinese rifle. Instead, I'll buy a cheap stock and practice on it.

The wooden stock donor is ready for installation, but the stock's recoil lug obstructs the receiver-barrel assembly.
I am seeking some guidance.

The recoil lug hole is obstructed by the receiver in this particular wooden stock. It appears that all wooden stocks are not created equal. I am unable to find any solutions to resolve the issue. I will attempt to move forward and find a better location for the hole.

It looks like I have an Albanian wooden stock with a side sling swivel and a long groove for a spike.
Dimension B) from the center of the front recoil lug to the trigger assembly spring is 9 3/8" for Alabanian.
That's what I have. Actually, for Chinese, I need 9 1/2". No problem, I'll fix it.

That is a Chinese stock for a pinned barrel action and you have a threaded barrel action. There is 1/8" difference in the location of the cross-bolt in the stock because of the following;

Threaded barrel actions rest on the cross-bolt at the locking/indexing collar and are 9" from the back center of the in-letting to the rear of the cross-bolt. Below pics are of a threaded barrel action.

Pinned barrel actions rest on the cross-bolt at a machined cutout area at the front bottom of the receiver and thus sit at 8 7/8" from the back center of the in-letting to the rear of the cross-bolt.

BTW the slotted head on the recoil lug isn't a screw, you push it out from the threaded side. PAX

Done. That lug was moved forward. The job is not perfect, but it's not bad either.

After relocating the cross-bolt, I refreshed the stock by applying three coats of antique oil, with plans to apply additional coats later.

If you haven't butchered it yet, the side sling stock is/can be kinda/sorta valuable. If you knew what you needed I'd swap you out for the correct stock to destroy. Sounds like you're not real familiar with the wood variations. PAX

I want to let you know that everything is going well with my rifle restoration. I have the appropriate sling swivel mount and the stock has been modified to fit the latest SKS receiver-barrel combination. The stock's color has remained unchanged, and I'm just giving it a refresh. This new stock will replace the aftermarket polymer stock that originally came with the rifle I purchased on GB. The rifle's appearance will be the same as an authentic SKS rifle.
