WW2 USMC H&R Reising M65 Sub-Machingun Trainer In .22
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:03:43 PM »
These are very hard to come by these days..... The M65 up to serial# 7000 was USMC issued 22 trainers for the H&R Reising M60 sub-machingun. Later in the 50's or 60's they came out with the (M150 Leatherneck) that was smaller is nature and more "civilianized". Then they brought it back again making the (M165 Leatherneck) that was more robust and almost identical to the original.

It is a semi-auto that is built very unique..... there is a charging piston that extends into the forestock that you pull back with your left hand finger.

Im sure alot of you know about the leatherneck, but this little write-up is for you younger folk that may have not seen these before.

Here she is..... the original USMC Reising M65

There is a mag release that is broken off flush with the stock, buggered up front sight post, and missing bolt hold-open..... but all the parts have been located and are in-route.

If you do a GB search...... the only one listed is NOT an M65.... its a 165. If is says (Leatherneck) on the rifle.... it is either a 150 or 165. Neither being the USMC issued trainer.

Well...... my father has one and absolutely loves it, so when he ran across this one at a gun show and haggled it down to $200........ it was a real "no brainer"
