Don't opt for Store Pick-up from Wal-Mart

(1/5) > >>

Toad:
I bought two boat seats on Wal-Mart's website on the 18th of this month. For some reason (brain fart) I declined on not paying the $3.94 to ship two rather large items to my home. I figured I'd just pick it up at the store, I got to go to Sam's Club, next door anyways. For the $3.95 it would have been ground 3-5 days. Wal-Marx is generally johnny on the spot, and whatever I bought would be at my door in 2-3 days. Store pick up said, free shipping and 3-5days...the Wal would txt me when the seats are in at my local store. Ok, this sounds good. On the 20th, I get a letter from the Walocaust. "Thank you for your order"...It will be at the store the between the days of April 2-8.  :? To save $3.94, I lost two weeks.  :?

Moral of the story, pay for the shipping at Wal-mart....It's usually just $.99, this just happened to be a bulky order. Don't pick it up at the store, make them work and send you yer stuff.

Actually, the moral of the story is Don't Shop At Wally World, AKA China Incorporated.

My first thought would be that they got shoplifted.

Why I stopped going to Wally (I'm ashamed to admit I used to):

Their prices really aren't any better than other stores.
I got tired of clothing laying in the floor and no employee picking them up.
I got tired of seeing groceries all over the store including frozen food and no employee doing anything about it.
I got tired of seeing kids playing with toys they had to take out of boxes and neither the parents or employees doing anything.
According to police, their call volume goes up 15 - 20% when a Wally goes in.
The city has dedicated bus service from other parts of town (read low income) to the one near me.
People leave their carts all over at bus stops, side streets, etc.

Chip Hazard:
I've seen people in Walmart open food and eat it while they are 'shopping' as if everything is there for them to take free of charge as they please.  One person even made a sandwich and opened lunch meat, bread, butter, mustard... and then open a soda and was drinking that.  When they were done they just left it on a shelf... and nobody in the store confronted them or did anything about it.

My wife refuses to shop there anymore and neither of us have been in a Walmart for ages.

I did that in college.  I'm not proud.  I needed money for important things, like beer and whiskey... I mean books and course materials.
