Browndog,

Looks like yours isn't the only one to be overstamped with a 3. This one looks like it was once a 1950. You didn't happen to get yours from the same seller on GB?

Oh man that rifle is such a mix master. Chinese stock, sling, and spike bayonet. And the latch lever for the cover is gone and button head screw assembly is put in its place. And all for a whopping $520 + shipping and transfer fees. Looks like someone got screwed.

That sure looks like the same stamp! Think it an original arsenal stamp or just fakes? I lean towards fakes now a days.

Well, the saddest thing is that I'm seeing a LOT of rifles like this sell for these prices. There's been a bunch this month already. I don't want to crap on the buyers, but just earlier today, when I was updating my Gunbroker sales data from over the weekend, I wanted to post another link to one that sold and ream the buyer if they are a member here.

Oh, what the heck...this was just a stupid purchase (I know it's your money to do with what you want, but still.) If whoever bought it, is a member of this board, you should be ashamed. This was at MOST, a $350 carbine, even in "todays" stupid prices...Hell, I wouldn't even buy it, personally. Better money spent elsewhere. I'll let you all point out the deficiencies, but I count multiple ones for that price. Keep in mind, the buyer also has to plunk down shipping and FFL fees. No true C&R holder would have ever paid that. So this SKS just cost at least $480-500!! LOL

I think you are being quite generous there Drago, I wouldn't have paid more than $275 for that Russianese mix up.

Uh GG, don't think that link was for the Russianese.  Almost as bad price wise.

Buyers who have no education on an SKS are the ones driving up these prices more than any collector!
Then we see many come here and want to know how Rare their Carbine is. Or, "I got a Russian, did I do good?"
If they would just learn before buying! Once they buy and then ask a question here, and we give an honest answer,
then often we are an automatic bad guy. What ever in HXXX happened to people that they just throw $100 bills at anything they see? Does not the age old expression "Buyer Beware" mean anything any longer? If I bought like so many of these new buyers are, I would be broke real darn fast!

I was referring back to the first link Drago posted up of the Russian action in a Chinese stock, etc. High bidder had to have paid about twice what the thing is really worth.

Ok, I was going by his very last. So many examples lately of "Fools being separated of their money" lately.
When are these people going to learn to use their brain on these rifles GG?

Yeah, the refurb Russian at $420 wasn't that bad really but $520 for an SKS that isn't even matching let a lone original(as to refurb) That is ridiculous.

Sifting through the bidders on GB since the first of the year trying to get to the actual number of bidders in an auction shows many of the same handles showing up to try and get a Russian at "their price" which is generally too high in the first place. They drop out about $100 below what the rifle eventually sells for . But they are back again in droves the next $0.01 starting price and no reserve shows up.

I believe some of them honestly think they are going to get a Russian for $89.95.

But I will tell you this, when a really good nonrefurb, even a 54 Tula, shows up, get out of the way. And an Izzy in nonrefurb condition, get out of the way again, what you think is your light at the end of the tunnel is actually a freight train getting ready to run you over with not a look back to see if you are dead or not.

The action has cranked a notch or three higher so far this year compared to last. Wonder what it will look like the day after election day. I expect it will keep cranking up until then. After election day???????

Freight train derail? Why are you worried about that? You have the money to push one to the top already it seems.
It isn't the newbies pushing the price of that Izzy up way before the auction ends. When you are actively bidding prices like you are presently doing, why would you want prices to derail? I call BS on your statements. Fact is fact, you have been driving the Izzy price up and were another rifle also. All anyone here has to do is look at GB. So, don't complain about higher prices.

Excuse me SIR! Then don't worry about the freight train derailing to lower prices. Ya can't have it both ways.
Thank You!
