He made it sound like it's something that happens frequently with their system.  Sounds like a right hand/ left hand not working together, or maybe they just rely too heavily on automated online ordering.

I think in general it isn't too problematic, i.e. you order 5 rifles, they have 4, they just wait until they get the 5th one in before they process your order; my order, however, was for mixed loose ammunition, and I doubt it is something they keep stocked.

Lots to look through here, I'll update in the ammo section after I take a good inventory.
So far, a handful of .357, a handfull of ammo that looks like it was found on a sunken ship, and a good bit of useable .38sp.

Century has won a few points back in my book.  I might order from them again.
