 No, this makes protesting in front of the President where there is a security concern a felony;   I'm not saying that's right or even legal, but it certainly isn't the same thing as all free speech being a crime.

  The thread title makes it sound like any and all free speech is now a felony, which makes for a sensational news story, but in reality, it makes the title of the thread, and the story, are inaccurate.

Also of note, this was widley supported by both sides, and sponsored by a republican.  It was basicaly an addition to an already existing law that made the whole law even more vauge and gave more power to the secret service and congress in deciding when and where "free speech" is actualy free.

Vote passed 399-3 or something like that.


I can see no rational explination for how this is NOT a violation of the 1st A.

 Nobody has said it's not a violation of the 1st amendment; but the title of the thread is misleading, making it sound like as of right now, any and all free speech is a felony;

 That is not accurate.

 That's like posting a thread titled " Shooting firerams is now a felony!"  and then when you read the content of the link, you find out that "shooting firerams inside the confines of a school cafeteria during lunch hour has been made a felony".....it's misleading, and inaccurate.

 The sensational tone of the thread is how this wound up in TFH.....

What better way to use free speech than hurl your thoughts within earshot of the president.  He obviously isn't reading his emails, you can't call him and now if you open your mouth you go to prison.  Sounds great for him/them bad for us.  Free Speech now a felony if your too close to the president.
