I'll be in school from August 20 till  mid- December.....but I am STILL going to try and sneak down, if there are no TESTS sheduled on Mon or Tue afterwards ! lol


I am also encouraging my BIL to attend .....he lurks here, and has done business with a few Board Members.

 When do you list the food assignment? Also, I may be bringing 3 friends with me, that makes 4 total for GatorCamper. I will confirm. Do they have to be Survivors SKS Forum members? I'm very excited about this meet!!!

Come on ya'll !!!   Where's the excitement  :shock:  :shock:   Let's get some action on here!!  Less than two months away..., got my items together for the raffle, starting to shop around for a deal on ammo (45 ACP, any leads?)
Target stands have been repaired after Ms Brittany and Ms Nicole managed to destroy two of them (I think is was the MN M38!).  Have some fire wood stored up...,

We'll be getting the food list together in the next couple weeks (begining of September, roughly).  So, be on the look out for that, too.

We'll be doing a BBQ spread again, but I'll be looking for input on what sides everyone wants, etc.

Well, we finally got things kind of organized.  Maybe.

This is a cruise year for us and since we live about 60 miles from Galveston we almost always pick up a ship there.  But this year we managed to get time off from work and we're going to take extra time and fly to Tampa, drive to LaBelle, get to the shoot all day Saturday, and then drive back to Tampa to catch the boat (ship) on Sunday.

As most of you know we've been driving to the shoot because it's such a hassle to fly with guns.  And this time we can't take guns on the ship either.  As of right now the plan is to just not bring any guns to Florida.  That just might be the biggest contradiction of terms that I've ever been part of, go to a shoot with no gun.  But the real truth is that the shoot is more about friendship, camaraderie, and Heimdhal cooking than anything else so guns can take a back seat.

We would like to put a few rounds through something so if anybody needs ammo, and if it's available in LaBelle or Fort Meyers, just holler and we'll bring ammo in exchange for the privilege of shooting your gun.  But our "general plan" is to be Sous Chef's for the God Of The Grill and Gatekeeper, Heimdhal, without treading on the authority of the Goddess of the Grill, Ms. 7.62 Re[)E^^Pt!oN!!!

Now the only issue is how I get back to the Port LaBelle Inn after killing a bottle of that (now traditional) FIREBALL Cinnamon Whisky. 

I can't tell y'all how much I am looking forward to this day!!!  In balance, this event, that is now being referred to in this household as the "1st Annual October Shoot 'n Cruise" is a 50/50 balance between the Shoot and the Cruise.  One filled with friendship and camaraderie and the other filled with sweet time with the most wonderful woman on the planet.

LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!

PS.  Ranger, dinner is on me on Friday, Oct 19.  You pick the place and we'll pick you up!!

Killing is an under statement. We are still not sure how you made it back to the car last time.  :lol:

Hey Galahad I'm planning on coming and most likely it'll be just me. Besides my SKS, I should have another rifle or two with me and you are more than welcome shoot whatever I bring.

Galahad, there are two Super Wal Mart near the range. The Walmarts in our area carry TurAmmmo 7.62x39 for $4.98 per box of 20. Not a bad price. You may want to give them a call. I also will have an extra rifle you may shoot, and sure many other folks would not mind extending you the curiosity.

I'd rather shop at a local gun shop.  If we don't patronize those guys before you know it there won't be any local gun shops any longer.   Walmart has never, ever done anything to earn my business so unless absolutely desperate I don't give them my money.   I bet there is a place in LaBelle that has ammo....

OK, I am offically green with envy at all of you guys!  Maybe I need to start a northern shoot for the guys up here!  Hmmmm, let me see, half of your guns will be illegal in CT, MA, NY, MD, DC, NJ, oh forget it.
