Have a lil movement in my reciever cover mount...

i have a lil play in my reciever cover scope mount. what could i use to shim it? or better yet, is there anyway or anywere to buy some screws that will hold it in place?

There has been many posts about this subject. Look for the one with the screw replacing the take down lever on the cover. My mount came with two screws that tighten against the reciever which I do not like because it messes up the serial # and just looks bad. I am going to remove them and find some other way to hold the cover.
Like replacing the pin with a screw.

If you've decided you must have a receiver cover mount the best bet is to replace it with a new one that needs some filing to fit (then expect to do this again over time with wear)

These mounts are all crap- some a little better than others.  Most are all right for a cheap red dot but definitely not the trick setup for any kind of real optic

yeah i had to file mine to get it to fit. i got a tight fit at first. so tight i had to tap the takedown pin in with a hammer. but a few rounds after sight it in it got a wiggle in it. at 50 yards i get just as good  groups with my iron sights as i do my 4x32 barska. havnt tried the scope at 100 yet. wanted to get wiggle out first. with iron sights at 100 if your a deer your dead. i really wanted the 4x32 scope for coyote and groundhog hunting.

Picked up a $10 mount advertised for a Remington 870 shotgun today- going to see what it takes to mount it to an SKS receiver
