 wow a waste of 50 bucks.

anybody else ever done a stress test of the stock or even the SKS stock?

it's convinced me to keep it wood and steel from now on

Aye Kay:
Kalash and ANinfatry should show thier vid.  Now that's a way to throw a AK.  Off a roof.  :)
Choate stocks seem to have very durable plastic,  the old ATI (combat exchange) folders are pretty damn tough.

or just dont go throwing your rifle out of a 3 story building

Really, when is a rifle gonna see that abuse? I'm no soldier, but pretty sure your rifle is supposed to be almost like an extension of your body in combat, right? So is this test an analog for falling out of a building with your rifle, and then being ran over by a truck?

Aye Kay:
Hell they just threw it on the ground a couple of times,  not a three story building.  The way we were taught to go to the ground in the Army,  the buttstock was part of it.  Going to the prone like that would break it faster than just dropping it with it's own weight.

AKBLUE:
TAPCO and other commercial offerings are not milspec.  One cannot expect the type of durability that a military part word be specified and tested.  There is a reason why military parts and ordnance is expensive (besides corruption  )  and that is extensive testing and high quality material.
Most stocks in the USA will not be mistreated or see any sort of combat or "action" but if used for tactical maneuvers, reenacting or rough treatment then picking the right equipment is important.  Milspec often rules in these cases.  There are aftermarket products that are very durable but need testing or proof too.
