how often do I lubricate and clean my sks?

How often am I supposed to put some CLP on my sks and clean it? Also whats the amount of CLP that I should apply ?

I clean my guns after every use. (but thats just me)
I remember when a "Yugo" was a piece of crap car. Now its one of the best toys in the box.

Me too!
But what if you don't shot them but once a year? I check all of mine every couple months.

depends on what your doing with it...

if you are shooting it, clean it after every shooting trip

if you are taking it out and handling it, maybe clean it every month or so, but wipe off the fingerprints every time you put it away.

if its sitting in a climate controlled area, like in a gun case indoors or in a gun safe, I'd think you really don't need to clean it.

if you shoot it, you should clean it

I have an "un-issued" SKS that hasnt been cleaned in years, I just check it once in a while and wipe it off, it's a safe queen.
