Just traded for a rifle that came with the following scope.  It is a 2.75x18 scope, has a communist star on top, and made in China on the bottom.  It did not come with the siderail mount that the only picture I could find online had with it.  fine reticle with some small graduation and a number 4 visible.  The scope itself appears well made and quite rugged.  Small in size of course.  Has a focus adjustment and eye cup.  ( need a new eye cup for it as this one is partly damaged ).  What can anyone tell me about this scope.  The original box with the scope had an old price tag of $99 on it.

This is the scope, but it did not come with the mount and had an eye cup in place.

You have the scope that came with the Navy Arms Type 56 short rifle SKS.  aka cowboy companion etc. It fits the mount you pictured though that one is missing the locking lever. Here is a pic of one I have.  Pretty scarce item.

Yep:

That is what I have except for the mount.  Not sure how they got separated.  That is the same box I have too.  Are these things actually worth anything?

Too bad you don't have the mount. I have one of the original stock and a  CC side plate.

Put it Ebay or Gunbroker etc. with the proper identification.   You will fid out, and likely be pleased at the outcome.

So if I were to describe this, I would call it a Chinese 2.75x28 early Navy arms import for Cowboy mount????

Yes, and/or lift a picture or two of mine or other to illustrate what mount it goes to.  I do not remember the diameter of the scope.  It may even fit 1 inch rings but that I'm not sure of because I never measured it.

1" rings it is.  I have it sitting on a topcover mount with 1" rings now.  I may keep it, I've got it on the rifle now and think I'll give it a try at the range this weekend.
