smell of cordite in the morning
« on: December 21, 2008, 04:47:37 PM »
I know I know it isn't cordite. but double base ball powder doesn't have the same ring. I took my little friend out this morning for some fun. I realized today how little i'd shoot this rifle even though i've owned it for years. 20 rounds down rang and a glaring truth, I NEED a front tool! Every round consistantly LOW. my group was wide but that was a combo of cross wind and asthma. But danm that felt good to shoulder that rifle and squeeze that trigger.

Hey, $10 and a trip to Benny (milsurpstuff429) and you will have your sight tool......and probably a couple of other things  you did not know existed but found you could not live without....

The only thing better than the smell of cordite in the morning is the smell of Hoppes #9 or Shooter's Choice powder solvent in the afternoon!

I've surfed Benny's and it would be more than just a few things trust me. Yes powder solvent is almost a perfume!

I miss that smell.  Its been a while since I've been to the range and now theres about a foot of snow on the ground here so I have to hope that we'll get a warm up sometime soon so I can go exercise the SKS and the M44.
