Is it legal to ship ammo to California?

Can I ship ammo To San Jose from out of state? Does anyone know for sure?

I Googled around for twenty minutes and this is what I've come up with: No ammo shipments to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, or Orange County without an FFL. San Jose should be good to go but I think it needs to be UPS ground regardless of where but you probably already knew that.
Cal's gun laws are pretty crazy but we have a lot of gun owners here. Probably more gun owners than any other five state's combined. We need good people elsewhere in the country to support us and to keep doing buisness with us or the gun grabbers will have won.
That's my opinion anyhow.

Im in fremont, and alameda county is legal.
Santa Clara county is 100% legal the last I heard too.
SF is usually the only resticted county in the bay.

Call your local PD to be sure.

San Jose is fine.  It is in Santa Clara County as I am.  I have received ammo from several different e-tailers and no problems.

Thanks for the help guys.  One retailer I  looked at said no shipments to Nevada. Never heard that one before.

He made be located there and does not want to bother with tax's or the local law's.
Ammoman.com is Located in NJ and wont ship to me in NJ either.

Several e-tailers will ship to me.  Cheaper than Dirt said they had a letter from the State Attorney General (former Governor Moonbeam aka Jerry Brown) who told them it was illegal.  Sportsmans Guide also will not send here.  My local county supervisor advised me there was no prohibition to sending ammo to Marin County.
Best advice I can give is get it while you can and a lot of it.  The last time I told someone where I got ammo online was just before Cheaper than Dirt got their letter.  Before that, they shipped to me.  Do your own research and tell no one who will sell to you.
