.... Maybe someday ati will make a stock that doesn't look like a total POS.
Not one stock they make looks good IMO.

I LOVE my ATI enfield stock. best 60 bucks ever spent

I finally got a chance to check the new SKS stock out in person today.  It looks ok.  I personally like the Tapco better.  I wouldn't mind getting one of these in the future to try out.

Pretty much just the appearance.  My T-6 is OD green and the ATI is not.  I still wouldn't mind checking the ATI out one of these days.

I was curious what this stock would look like with a forward mounted aimpoint/cantilever mount, 30rd mag, flash hider, and a foregrip.  I made a photoshop mock-up of this configuration but deleted the foregrip because I think they don't look good on SKS's.

Unfortunately I can't post it because my low-speed internet is not compatible with image hosting sites, so if you'd like to see it them PM me and I'll send it to you, then you can post it to share with others.

I did the same mock-up with the T6 and found it much more appealing, so I'll build my para into something like that.

BTW, the thing I like most about the strikeforce is the grip.  No need for the folding feature; it would be uncomfortable to carry it folded and slung across my back because it folds to the left, meaning either the stock of charging handle will dig into my back.

Anymore feedback on this stock from actual owners? I am curious if the picatinny rails are removable as I do not want a front grip and it looks like the rails will get in the way with my left hand?

Hey Willy I installed one of the new ati stocks for a friend this past weekend. It took a little filing to get the trigger group into the stock but if you are careful its a very tight fit.The folding mechanism seems very strong compared to the old ati folders. I bought one when I was new to the sks and quickly put it back into the wood). With that being said I also installed a tapco on one of my sks's about 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier. There was no filing involved.Oh and those rails you were wondering about bolt on before you put the barrel/receiver into  the stock.

thanks! this will certainly be an option for my next SKS. Apparantly I am one of the lucky few that has an old ATI folder with a solid folding mechanism.

Does anyone know if ATI uses a standard buffer tube (mil or civi,) or did they come up with their own dia. like Tapco?

+1

My last folder came from Combat Stocks and I actually miss it now that it's gone.  The hinge would lock solidly in place, and it folded on the right.  Folding to the left would be awkward to fold or extend; you'd have to move the weapon out and away from your body, or rotate it 90 degrees to give it clearance.  Then there's the matter of how your hand needs to be positioned to make the change.

I see no good reasons for a left side fold.
