Stumbled upon this. Thought it was interesting. Note the Marine has a revolver. I bet its either a S&W model 10, or a Colt 1917 .45.

Also looks like there might be 6 dead bodies out there somewhere.

I'm going with the 1917, handle looks pretty big.

1903.  Look at the front of the stock/handguard.

Cool pic!

Those Unertl scopes were tops in the day.  The adjustments are in the mount.  While considered dated today, in good hands that '03 Springfield in .30-06 and that 8x scope could still put the hurt on you today!

The Marines also used the M1D version of the Garand in Korea as well.  That is what legendary Marine sniper Gunnery Sergeant Vernon Mitchell used there.  Gunny Mitchell also directed the 1st Marine Division Sniper School during 1967 in Da Nang later in his career.

So that is what that scope is, I know a guy that has one of those scopes on a 300win mag with a bull barrel.
It is a big heavy gun, but shooting at 100yds is useless, you will hit dead center every time you pull the trigger.
He tells me the scope is worth more than the gun is.
