The Marcus Magazine adapter system

galahad:
Yesterday was quite a day.  I know a LOT of you are trying to picture how the installation and operation of the non-duckbill magazine is accomplished.  Well, I was a bit familiar with it but yesterday I learned just about all there is to know about it, and then demonstrated how to do it.

Marcus and I made FOUR videos during the course of the afternoon.  Since the adapter system functioned flawlessly the only delays were from my ineptitude when making the demonstrations.  Rather than try to explain what the day entailed I think it's easiest for interested parties to just view the videos.  Hopefully they are pretty clear, although details are somewhat lacking as our cameras won't zoom while filming.  It's pretty clear that we aren't professionals, heck, we're not even talented amateurs when it comes to movies, but we did our best.

This is the video of the final "LIVE FIRE TEST" of the adapter on 18Dec09. Galahad from "The SKS Forum" performed the final tests for us .

The website is still a rough work in progress  but there is quite a bit of information there already.

In the second video the ones that weren't ejecting were you saying (and were they) blanks? I had a hard time understanding what was being said. It looked like the bolt went back a little but not enough to eject which is what a blank round would do. If the mag is cycling blanks by hand then it must be pretty good.

Danjal:
So essentially its an ak magazine adapter for an sks? Very nice. I was wondering how long someone would take to figure this out. Do you need to do the sks M bolt mod for these to go in on a closed bolt? And does the hold open function correctly?

galahad:
1.  They are NOT AK mags.  They are modified Tapco duckbill mags.
2.  Neither the blanks nor the white tip practice ammo (half load) would cycle the action.
