longspring I knew Herters made lots of different reloading equipment but not powder,is there powder rebranded like some of the Hodgdon's brands or there own formulations. I never seen those powders before.

I believe it is their own formula's . There were three rifle specific powders : #100 , #101 , and #102 . I see it for sale CHEAP at shows , but no one will use it because there is no data . I have the data ! This manual has loads from 22 hornet to 458 win .

I think at one time Herters was made in Scotland. That was Scot or Scot Brigadier powder and Nobel powder. Herters powder was later sold after the Herters name as Scot powder in the US. Many of the European powders are Nobel powders, just made in different countries with different company names. Before Hodgdon extruded powders were made in Australia they were made in Scotland. You can cross reference many of the Nobel powders to German, French, Swedish and Scottish powders. Many are the exact same powders just made in different plants.

All this brings up and interesting question, just how much are we as reloaders depending on other countries for our powder needs.  We all know what the primer shortage did some places still don't have primers and the ones that do some of the prices I've seen quoted are ridiculous.

I think now if you haven't is a good time to look at your long term component needs, thats why I got into casting my own bullets for my various handguns and rifles,I can take a powder like Alliant 2400 and my own cast bullets and load ammo for my 357,7.62 x 39 & 54r,300 Sav. and 30-30. then I throw in a can of W231 or Unique and cover everything else.

Although I hope for the best I plan for the worst so I wasn't affected by the shortage, powder and primers are readily available around my area again but how long will it last?

Is it possible to get some reloading Data from you for Herters 102 powder using Herters 120  Large Rifle Primers with a 50 and 52 grain .224 Berger Naked Bullets.
I have been shooting 34.5 grains of 102 using 120 primers, with 52 grain Bergers and the rifle seems to like that combination in my 22-250. I would like to know if I'm approching maximin load or not. Prefer to error on the safe side.
Thank you for your time and reply

I would like data for Herters 100, 101, 102, 103 powders. All load data for calibers you have would be helpful. Specifically, 243, 30-06, and what ever calibers the listed powders would be useful for. I have some of each and it was well kept, still sealed! I want to put it to use.
Thanks and you can email me at mylegup@gmail.com to send me the data. I sincerely appreciate it. You are the only person I have found with any of the Herters data.
Thanks,
Lars
