Questions on the Elk River AK-74
« on: February 23, 2010, 08:06:49 PM »
I searched this weapon on the forum, and read that Elk River is the receiver and that the rest is made from Romanian parts, and I'm asking who has one of these? I've been weighing in on a 5.45mm AK for a while, and I believe this is my ticket. My biggest concern is overall quality, and my second concern is the furniture. I definitely want to put wood on it, will "standard" AK74 furniture fit?

Elk River is what is left from Arsenal/Armory USA. No idea if that mean anything about current production.  I have read people with some complaints with the main 3 in the price range,   Elk River, the CAI bulgy builds and TGI, but it seems they all seem to get resolved.

If its Romanian, any regular stamped AK furniture will fit.

Have you checked into the TGI truck gun through AKfroum.net?
