Judging by the strategically placed tape, it look like the raining SKS's have hit the ground more than once.

"Live" blade practice. Ever seen the Old Guard flip their 1903's? Takes guts esp. with a bayonet attached.

rifle in the rear is for a guy out of picture. guy in fronts rifle is out of picture

tape is for grip and it looks as if that is the next stage of practice.
