Quick question

sksrosie:
I was wondering one thing could a speed loader "LULA" be used on a modified Tapco mag? I was just thinking how easy it is to load my AK mags I realize AK mags are a bit wider than a Tapco SKS mag but it would seem that if the front and rear latching points of a modified Tapco were close to those on an AK mag I could use the lula to load them.

I honestly don't know Rosie. I never messed with a LULA so I can't say. But you would need some way to hold the rounds in the LULA before you inserted it. If you could figure out a way to insert it. My first inclination is to say "why try it"? The Tapco's work supremely well. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Marcus

sksrosie:
With a Lula it snaps on top of the mag and then you "feed" rounds in one at a time and a leaver presses them in/out. Is there any way you could compare a modified Tapco to an AK mag.I think if the front and rear tabs were close it would work.

1mlt:
The isn't any change to the feed lips on the Tapco mag. The only change is to cut off the duckbill so it mates with the adapter. You are correct, the AK mag feed lips and shoulders are much wider than the Tapco's. Putting the Lula on the AK mag makes it even wider at the top where it would rest in the mag well. I see where you are heading with this though. Use something like the Lula with a feed lip setup that will feed rounds into the SKS. Then you just snap it on an AK mag and lock it home. At least I think that's where you are going? Marcus

I've toyed with this idea a bit, and I think it could be done.  But then I realize that I just have to load the strippers one at a time....  I could be loading a mag instead.
