Hey guys, Well i cut the barrel off that NORINCO with the bend in it, waiting for the D Prince sight to install, I noticed that the barrel is slightly larger and was wondering iftheres a compensator that I could put on without having to thread the barrel, I dont mind threading the barrel but I cant find a 14/1 RH barrel threader, any suggestions??? I love the new length, , what a difference it made in weight also, WOW. I cut , face and crown then cold blue, Im hoping I dont have to thread it to put a compensator on it
I have a 14/1 RH die and the TAT. I'll mail them to you in a Priority Mail envelope if you pay the freight both ways...You can use some emory cloth and take the barrel down to close to 1inch so you can cut the threads. Are you anywhere near Houston, Texas? If so, we can make a trade. You crown my barrel for the use of the die and TAT. Marcus

Another market for this jewel would be the Kel Tec Sub 2000 guys. I was going to put an AK sight on mine to replace the riduculous plastic front sight but this would be much easier. You would have to make the barrel diameter smaller but you would certainly have a new market for it. Currently they are using High Point, AK, and SKS sights to replace the junk the carbines come with. Some of the hacking they do to make these sights work is not up to spec. Your sight would solve the problem.
Go to KTOG.org and make a post to get interest. I do not know one owner of these that likes their front sight.

The barrel diameter depends on the caliber the rifle is made in. I am not where my sub 2000 is or I could give you the 9mm diameter. If I had to guess I would say the SKS sight is around 1/16th of an inch larger than the Sub 2000 sight. In order to use the SKS and AK sights, they are having to sleeve them or rework the front sight in a manner similar to your product.
I'll measure mine when I get home Monday and if you can make one in the Sub 2000 diameter I'll buy one and post a review and test of it on the Kel Tec Sub 2000 forum. If you are anywhere close to Houston I could let you borrow it real easy.

Hey Darin, and Marcus. am in the Dallas are, I received tje Front sight Darin an I already put it on. The sight was a tat smaller so I split it a little and fit it right over. one of the sight had a problem with the 2 retaining screws, they would nt thread on at all, The sight I used was cool, I had to get a little longer screw to tighten due to the splitting, I already took it out and shot it 90 rds and still there. Ha! Oh some one was worried that it would come off, this puppy hung on like a mad crab on a full moon. It aint going nowhere. I even used PRIMO " SUPERIOR " AMMO. Thankx again Darin. Hey Marcus, Id crown your barrel anytime. I have some business in Houston coming up, Id let you know when( within 1 week) abd I have the crwning tool, I wish i could post pix of this crown job, I bevelded it and it looks like i never cut it. and oh it repaired my bent barrel problem, This baby now groups about 5 flyer in 3 " grup at 75 yrds with my first about 40 rds. with a EoTech red dot. s97, OK, don't forget yours so we can cut the threads on it. I have the emory cloth to work the barrel down. Be sure you bring the FH with you so we can make sure it fits properly. Do you drink Miller Lite, cause that's what I have? Email me 1mlt@sbcglobal.net when you come down. I work Monday and Tuesday until 4PM, sometimes Wed to noon. Marcus

I dont drink at all, 23 yrs of Diabetes, runs in the family, But I will bring everything to do the job, its simple and takes about 20-30 min. you'll like it, now that I know how to send pix, let me show you the crown job and I love to polish metal, I have spent a few hrs on the YUGO, I polshed the trigger assembly, the 10 rod mag, the receiver and the entire irifle minus the barrel. Ill take a pix of my closet.

Martin08 said he was having the same issue with the two setscrews. I'll have to figure out what gives, as I just tried three here, and they worked. Maybe they need to be started while the unit is off as the spreading might "pinch" the threaded holes... We will have to see.
Now you did install the bottom screw right?
Your sight is back very far. The sight is designed to fit at 16 inches past the breech. Even though the barrel does not appear to taper, it does. I cut the ID to fit at or around .60 inch, but the barrel nearest the gas block is .630! The closer you get the more the bottom wings will look funky like that, unless you relieve some material with a drum on a dremel.
Should I include a longer one to overcome larger barrel diameters? I am going to increase the ID of the bottom hole, as I do not like the look of the splayed out bottom wings. A small amount of Dremel drum work would remove the issue on that. Let me know.
Thanks,
Darin

Hello Darin, I did put the bottom bolt on, she ISSSSSSS SSSSSOOOOO Tight. The spread is not bad after i put the bottom scrw in, I love what youve done, Thanks, Now Im getting ready to go to houston and help crown 1mlt's rifle and get mine threaded for a compensator, Oh, I went and fired over 90 rds and NO she doesnt move. even without the 2 screws, its real tight, Expeansion is good with this sight, Barrel was nice and warm after 90 or so rods, she held up great. Great job Darin, and thanx for sending mine out o fast. Oh and it fixed my bent barrel when I cut it off.

Glad it worked for you, and glad the spread went away after the screw got installed, as I do not like that spread. I think the screw holes on top get pinched when the unit gets spread open. I will indicate in the instructions (When I complete them) that the screws need to be started before the install. Appreciate your feedback, and comments, and love the Disney Princess room! Hope you have daughters there! Not that there is anything wrong with that if not......... D

Darin, I'm sure that I can overcome the set screw issue. I'll do a step by step and post results. It is not from expanding the sight block, because I am attempting to fit the screws just as it came in the envelope without placing it on a barrel. I'll get back to it after I return from Church.
