Hello,
I am new to the forum, however I am not new to firearms. I was doing some research on a Chinese SKS I have and I found out that it is a sporter model. My sks has a monte carlo stock on it right now but I like to find a nice original sporter stock to replace it. Does anyone have one for sale or can direct me to the right place? Thank you for your time.

This SPORTER stock you're seeking...Are you talking "thumbhole" stock, factory made to take the AK mags? Are you looking to BUY only, or is your wood factory Monte Carlo up for trade or sale? If you seek the thumbhole-style, there are two styles produced. One thumbhole is sling cutout-side-mount with cutout black coated grip. The other thumbhole style is  bottom sling mount with full wood grip. Is your present Monte Carlo  a synthetic? I've heard referenced a SPORTER stock that was not a thumbhole. It's styled as a regular stock but curved as a  hunting-rifle stock.    Clarification ??? Cool....PS: I don't believe a NEWBIE according to the forum rules can post a WTB in the classified section which is probably the proper site location for this...your 1st. posting here. Also, WELCOME TO THE SITE!....GO READ THE RULES! Rolling Eyes Cool

As alluded to some of the so called "Sporters" used both TH and MC stock.
Your stock could be correct and original if I'm reading your post right.

Sorry guys about posting a WTB in this section. My Monte Carlo stock is aftermarket not original and yes I will most likely sell it. I am looking for a side sling thumb hole stock if you guys know of one. I am not new to this forum, I was having trouble logging in under my old name so I created a new login. My account might have gotten deleted because it was inactive while I was on deployment with the military. So once a again sorry guys. I look forward to hearing back for you all. Thank you.

Not to mess up another guys game,  there is someone posting here for the exact trade.  But have you ever held one of those POS thumbhole stocks?

Sorry,  I guess I didn't read your post very carefully.  Your Monte Carlo is a plastic one?

I have not held one of those, are they really uncomfortable? I like the way they look though.

I took ours off in the car on the way home if that tells you anything. Try before you buy.
